Download – common questions
Is this the official Termax website?
Yes. termax.app is the only official website for the Termax SSH client, run by its developer Mark Tietz in Waltenhofen, Germany. The Android build is also published on Google Play under the package name de.termax.app. Any other site offering a "Termax SSH" download is a mirror we do not control - please download from here or from Google Play.
Where do I get the Termax APK?
Directly from this page. The APK on termax.app is the same build that goes to Google Play, signed with the same key, so you can install it either way and still receive updates. Use the APK if you have no Play Store on the device, or if you want to keep a specific version. Verify it with the SHA-256 checksum listed above before installing.
Is the download free, and is there a paid version?
It is free, and there is no paid version at all. There is no Pro tier, no trial that expires, no ads, and no feature behind a subscription. Terminal, SFTP, saved connections, SSH key generation and end-to-end encrypted sync are all included.
Do I need an account to use Termax?
No. You can install Termax and connect to a server without registering anything. An account is optional and exists only if you want to sync connections between your PC and your phone - and even then your vault is encrypted on your device before it is uploaded.
Which Windows versions are supported?
Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit. The installer is a standard .exe. It is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen will warn on first run - click "More info" and then "Run anyway". The SHA-256 checksum above lets you verify you got the untampered file.
